Child Care Seer Release Spotlight
November 6, 2024
On Wednesday, November 6, Child Care Seer® will release our latest software update with lots of new and enhanced features. Keep reading for all the details on what you can expect Wednesday!
Export available for Services
New in this release, you may export the Services page from a child’s profile. Simply go to the Money tab, select Services, adjust the dates, and click the Export button. This is a great way to provide a printed record of all the child’s services, including all payment information, for any given time period. Exports are available as a .PDF or .CSV download.
Lock a program to prevent new enrollments
Has your team ever accidentally enrolled a child into an outdated program? With Seer, this is easy to fix, but what if you could prevent the problem in the first place? Now you can!
Superusers now have the ability to block any program for future use, even those with children currently enrolled. Two great times to use this feature are during seasonal re-enrollment, such as when summer camp begins or at the start of the new school year, or when you raise prices for only new families.
Simply have your center’s superuser go to the Pricing page, edit the program you wish to lock, and click the slider button! Staff members will still be able to see the program on enrollments throughout Seer, but it won’t be available for new enrollments. If at any time you want to start enrolling again, simply go back to Pricing and click the slider button again.
Please note: This feature is only visible to superusers. If you aren’t sure who your center’s superuser is, or if you would like to designate a new superuser, please reach out to the Seer success team using the help button. All other admin users will see only that the program is locked.
Preview tomorrow’s activities in the classroom
Our teachers have been asking, and we’re happy to announce that Activities for future days are now available to preview and select on the class device! Previously, only today’s activities from the Activity Planner were available to view, which made planning for tomorrow while in the classroom difficult. Now you can view tomorrow’s activities, as well as those for any day in the past or future!
Not using the Activity Planner yet? We’re happy to help you get started using this powerful curriculum distribution system to take Daily Journals to the next level at your center!
Double ratio optional at naptime
Did you know that Child Care Seer monitors classroom ratios in real-time on the dashboard, even during naptime? As you may be aware, Virginia is our home base, and regulations here allow double ratios during naptime. Previously, Seer assumed double ratio during naptime events for everyone, but many of our customer and classroom locations do not follow the same standard. Now, you can turn off double ratios at naptime for any or all of your classrooms--simply uncheck this option when adding or editing a class.
Remember, visit the Ratios & Rooms area of My Center to make sure Seer is set to monitor the correct ratios for your state!
Disable ACH for an individual adult
While ACH costs less to collect than credit card payments, there is increased risk of an ACH payment “bouncing” since it comes directly out of a parent’s checking account. When this happens, the extra fees involved quickly make ACH use much less appealing than accepting only credit cards!
New in this release, you may choose to keep accepting ACH payments in your center but turn off access for any individual adult who might not manage this option well. To remove an adult’s access to ACH, visit their Money page, go to Payment Methods, delete any existing ACH, and then click the slider button to disable the payment method. When viewing their mobile app, the adult will simply see that ACH has been disabled on their account.
Display updates on Entries Log
Have you ever wondered how many Daily Journal entries were released today? Or maybe you’d like to know how many Diapers were logged in the Infant classroom this morning? Or maybe you’ve simply had trouble seeing all the entries for today because you had to click Load More too many times? Because we’ve updated the Family Connect Entries Log to allow easier navigation as well as a total count of items in the viewer, it’s easier than ever to answer all these questions and more!
Incident report summary CSV export
New with this release, export the Incident Report summary as a .CSV file. Previously, only .PDF export was available, but now you can export the summary and then import to Excel to easily sort and categorize data as needed for your reporting process.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding the November 6 update, please reach out to the Child Care Seer® Success Team using the Help Button or via our website. We are ALWAYS happy to talk with a customer!
